We want to let you know that we are taking extra safety measures at our church to cooperate with expert recommendations coming from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) while continuing to maintain a welcoming environment.
Here is what we are doing:
- Hand sanitizer will be more available and visible.
- We will be regularly wiping down door handles.
- We encourage everyone to wash their hands regularly.
- Use proper coughing and sneezing etiquette.
- Stay home if you are sick.
Although we will continue having services Saturday and Sunday as of now, we will be implementing the following precautions in our building:
- Weekly communion has been suspended until further notice.
- After church lunch/fellowship time is suspended until further notice.
Both of these items are something we hold dear to our heart at Waitsburg Christian Church and we will get back to this once we get a go ahead from the CDC, but as of now we feel that we need to take the precautions recommended by the experts of disease control for our area.
It has been a tough couple of days as I’ve searched for the right decisions to make in a time like this. Please know that the love of God and the love of people come first in my heart and mind. I will continue to consult those in the know, and, through prayer, try and make the correct decisions as we move forward. Most choices will come with resistance at times, but just know that we are not downplaying what is happening to so many. We love all of you.
If you are nervous or hesitant about being with a large crowd of people at church, there is no shame in staying home and streaming our church services on our YouTube channel.
We will continue to open our doors, love on each other, and do life with each other. God is greater than fear. Instead of worrying, we will pray. We ask that you join us in this.
Thank you for your understanding.
